I’m getting into amateur radio, and so bought an SDR (signal defined radio). While most useful on the computer, I found online that Adafruit had written a python program to take advantage of SDR on the pi. This program is visual only, but there is an SDR library and a python wrapper that I’ve only just started playing with (see the adafruit tutorial to get them onto the pi). Raspberry pi is used as a transceiver in a lot of hobby projects (transmit and receive) which will be the basis of my first radio unit. This little setup is just for fun (its all just for fun), using the screen I’ll ultimately implement on a bike computer. There seems to be a pretty active reddit community on rtl-sdr, a good place to look for projects, partners.
