CERN
Yesterday, September 22 2011, the good old physicists at CERN published a paper that claims neutrinos were observed travelling faster than light. My personal opinion is more along the lines of XKCD . There’s a lot riding on the fact that the speed of light in vaccuum is a superconstant, that nothing can go faster. Optics, GPS, basically the last 100 years of theory in physics rides upon it. While it is certainly possible, as anything technically is, I for one will wait for some more experiments to confirm. Though it is exciting to imagine. For the published paper, see here .
